Tigi Catwalk Honey and Oatmeal Conditioner

I love TK Maxx for picking up Tigi products, I always seem to find the big 750ml pump bottles of their Shampoo and Conditioners for around half the price, I have about 6 or 7 of these in differing forms and will do separate posts on these shortly but I was so excited to see the Tigi Catwalk Honey and Oatmeal version in there last weekend that I bought it immediately. My hairdresser always used to use this Shampoo and Conditioner when I had my hair done and it made my hair feel so soft that I had to pick this up and test if it worked at home. I just picked up the conditioner, mainly because I am obsessed with the Tigi Catwalk Headshot Shampoo which has a minty sweet smell and is for dry hair as well and is quite literally amazing, I'm completely obsessed with the smell of this  shampoo and how clean it makes my hair feel, so I know I won't be giving this shampoo up anytime soon, this one was also another TK Maxx purchase, but I shall speak more about this in a separate post.

Anyway, onto the Honey and Oatmeal Conditioner, This conditioner is for dry hair and re-hydrates hair using wheat and soy proteins leaving hair moisturised and shiny. If I'm honest, I didn't actually like the smell of this too much in the bottle but I knew the results were good so I picked it up anyway and once you actually pump it out of the bottle, it has a lovely sugary honey smell which is actually really nice, definitely grows on you. This works as well as I remember it working in the hairdressers as well, I only put it on my hair for about 30 seconds before rinsing it out but it left my hair feeling so soft and looking shiny and healthy.

My favourite thing about buying these from TK Maxx is the price, The Shampoo's are sold in TK Maxx, normally for about £9.99 and conditioners around £12.99 which is roughly half price and as these are the big 750ml bottles, they last for ages, I have quite a few bottles of these and mix them up quite often depending on what my hair needs. The pump bottles are also really handy for when you're in the shower, one pump dispenses the perfect amount of product for my just past shoulder length hair. I also like how bright the bottles are, really funky and look lovely next to the shower.

TK Maxx also do lots of other brands (MOP, L'Oreal, Wella, Matrix to name a few) in the big 750ml bottles, if Tigi isn't the brand for you, check it out, really is a bargain as these bottles last for ages and are so handy.

What are your guys favourite shampoos?

NOTD: No7 Stay Perfect Glitter Top Coat

I picked this up in Boots this weekend, using my £5 off No 7 Voucher meaning that this Glitter top coat only cost me £3 - Bargain!! I picked up the silver version of No 7 Stay Perfect Glitter Top Coat but I think I may have to go back to pick up the Gold version as well after trying this one out. It's really easy to apply and gives full glitter coverage after 2 coats. I saw a preview of these on some blogs a couple of months ago and got very excited, I do love glitters especially chunky glitters.

This comes in a see through square bottle with a cream lid with gold detailing, it looks really pretty actually in the bottle, it's a clear polish with tiny pieces of silver glitter and then bigger hexagonal pieces. It has a rounded brush, similar to Rimmel and Essie Brushes which means one stroke covers the whole nail for me. I couldn't wait to test this so I applied 2 coats on my ring finger over my much loved Barry M Berry Ice Cream (still haven't fallen out of love with this btw!!) and I actually really like the 2 colours together.

This was the last bottle of the silver glitter left in my local boots, it seems to be selling out pretty fast, so if you like I'd recommend grabbing it soon!

Have you guys tried this polish?

Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Make Up Remover

I have been trying to re-vamp my cleansing routine recently, I use wipes most of the time but I know these aren't great for your skin, so on a little wander around Boots recently, I picked up Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Make Up Remover because I wear Black Eyeliner and Mascara on a daily basis so I wanted a product specifically targeted for the eyes, one because my eye's have a tendency to be a little sensitive to some products so I was hoping that something targeted for sensitive eyes would be designed with that in mind and secondly because it does normally take quite a lot of work to remove my eye make up each day so I wanted something specifically targeted for that reason as well.

The product was quite well priced, I picked mine up in Boots for £3.35 for 125ml bottle which seems like a pretty fair price to me. I used cotton wool to remove the eye makeup and all was OK to begin with, it took quite a lot of scrubbing to get all the make up off but I can forgive this on the basis that I do wear a lot of eye make up each day but it did mean that my eyes felt a little tender. About ten minutes after using this however, My eyes began really stinging, almost inside the eye, which meant that I was wondering around squinting and wanting to wash my eyes with cold water to relieve the stinging, once I did this, it seemed to soothe them and they began to go back to normal, had I not have washed them, I'm not sure how long I would have had to put up with it though.

Personally, I'm quite disappointed with this, but I know lots and lots of people love this product  and it has won lots of awards, so I think it may have to be a test it and see if it works for you. I am now on the hunt for an eye make up remover that works (and hopefully doesn't sting!) What do you guys use?

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - Original

So another of the Biore Products that I was sent to review here, and this one is Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, I have to say until I went to try these I hadn't really paid attention to the black heads on my nose, It was only when I got up close in my magnifying mirror that I noticed them, there aren't many and they didn't massively bother me - until I used this and saw how much dirt it pulled out which was kind of gross but rather satisfying at the same time.

These come in a box of six and are recommended to be used once a week to remove the weeks build up of dirt. As this was my first time using these, it didn't get rid of everything, I can still see a few blackheads on my nose, but I know from looking at the strip after that it has definitely removed some of them and I think that with a few more uses it will get rid of the remainder of the dirt build up. They also come in individual little packets, really handy for going away!

You apply these by wetting your nose and then peeling the see through plastic off and sticking to the nose so it drys to the skin, it takes about 10 - 15 minutes for the strip to set and it does feel a little weird as it dries and sets, almost a little tickly, I don't know whether it was this or the excitement of seeing what dirt it got out that made me pull it off after ten minutes. It's definitely quite a strange feeling.

The ones I tried were the Original Deep cleansing pore strips but there is an Ultra Deep cleansing strip as well for more hardcore dirt! You can pick them up for around £7.99

Have you used these strips or can you recommend any others?

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

There's quite a lot of talk going on around Bourjois' latest offering, Magic Nail Polish remover, I have been quite excited about this product launching and had been checking my local Boots and Superdrug since it's launch date to see if they had it in and I finally spotted it last week. Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover claims to remove nail varnish within 1 second per nail, quite a claim and one I wanted to put to the test, I change my nail polish at least 3 - 4 times a week if not more so removing polish is somewhat of a chore for me. This product comes in a big pink pot, nice and girly, with a twist top lid, when you remove the lid, there is a black foam which has the magic remover soaked in and a hole in the centre for you to put your nail into.

It doesn't quite remove my polish in one second, but to be honest, I was very sceptical that this (or anything to be honest) would be able to remove all polish within that time anyway, I found that it took around 5-7 seconds of twisting in the pot per nail for it to come out completely clear, but it still is a lot easier than nail varnish remover and cotton wool. My biggest negative for this product is the smell when you first open the pot, it's an overwhelming chemical smell that isn't pleasant in the slightest so I have taken to opening my window and removing the polish by that so I don't have to smell it for too long as it feels like it could bring a headache on. The actual smell of the product on fingers when removed from the pot though is a lovely sweet and fruity smell, the product itself is a little oily as well so it leaves fingers looking moisturised and the nail looking shiny and healthy which is a bit of a bonus that I wasn't really expecting.

My biggest hopes for this little wonder pot though was how well it would remove Glitter Nail Polish, I love Glitter polishes but I HATE removing them, it's just far too much effort and it leaves my nails feeling battered and rough from the amount of scrubbing I have to do on them, and it's because of this that I limit my wearing of glitter polishes. I tried this after recently having OPI's Teenage Dream on and after a bit of experimenting, I found that around 25-30 seconds of twisting per finger in the pot managed to remove  most of the glitter, there were still a few specks of glitter left on my nail but these were easy to remove, on the whole, this was a million times easier than the normal effort I have to go through to remove glitter and it also felt like it wasn't literally shredding my nail as well, very impressed!

I picked mine up from Boots for £4.99 but I have seen it in my local Superdrug as well. Overall, I really like this product, it definitely cuts down time, but also cuts down on the hassle and mess of removing nail polish and also felt like it was actually doing my nails some good.

Have you guys used this yet? What are your thoughts?

This is my nails pre using the Magic Nail Polish Remover
This is after around 25-30 seconds of twisting the nails in the tub, these pieces of glitter that are still on the nail were actually quite loose as well so came off very easily.

This was after 2 seconds of using the remover on normal polish
This was after about 5-6 seconds of using the remover.

Nails Inc Brompton Place Polish

I picked this Nails Inc Brompton Place polish up last summer during a little trip to London. I was actually on a nail varnish ban, due to spending far too much money on nail polish, at the time I saw it so my lovely sister bought it for me instead. I really do love this colour, It's bright, girly and perfect for summer. It's got a very strong colour and really stands out, so it's definitely not a subtle look, but it looks great with a tan and can help dress up a plain outfit. It's easy to apply and gives pretty much full coverage after 2 coats, although I do tend to wear three coats of it just so it looks perfect. I also use this polish as the base for my OPI Katy Perry Teenage Dream Glitter and the 2 really complement each other. I think that's about all I can say about this polish, but I do love it, and if you're after a bright pink, I would definitely reccomend!

I had a bit of a nail crisis this week, two of my nails broke so I had to cut them all quite short, so the pictures below are of my little stumpy nails, can't wait for them to grow back!
I picked this up from a Nails Inc store for £11.

What's your favourite pink polish?

Gosh Velvet Touch Eyeliner - Black

Hi Lovely people,

Just a quick post today to show you this Gosh Velvet Touch Eyeliner. I bought this eyeliner recently in Superdrug, I'm on a bit of a hunt for my new "go to" eyeliner since I finished my final Bad Gal eyeliner - the old chubby stick version which was my favourite eyeliner :( -  I'm a bit of an eye liner obsessive, even though I only really ever wear black eye liner I have different ones for different occasions - strange I know! This eyeliner actually really reminds me of the Urban Decay 24/7 sticks, It's got a similar consistency and the pencil tip is similar, it applies lovely and smoothly like the Urban Decay and has a good strong colour. I struggle sometimes with a bit of a Panda Eye effect with some eyeliners, I wear black eye liner on the waterline so it tends to run and end up sitting underneath my eyes, while I've never found an eyeliner that this doesn't happen with after a while (and I don't think I ever will due to where I wear my liner), this has quite good staying power, I get at least 4 - 5 hours before I have touch up!

It's one of my first foray's into Gosh makeup and I have to say I'm quite impressed for the price, considering this is only £4.99 - I'm used to paying at least double or more for something that is very similar, having said that, while I do like this, I will probably still end up trying out other eyeliners once this one is used up because it's not quite the same for me as the Urban Decay eyeliner or Benefit Bad Gal.

One little point to note, since writing this post, I left the lid off of this eyeliner for a night and when I went to apply it the next morning, it had dried out, so it took a bit of working with it to get it to apply a decent colour again, once I had though it seemed to be OK, so if you do buy it, don't leave the lid off :)

Have you guys used this eyeliner? Any other recommendations from Gosh?

Leopard Print Konad

Another quick nail post.....sorry if you don't like these!! But since I got my Konad kit out the other day I decided to do another one, this time I have gone for multi-coloured leopard print Mani. Very bright and in your face but I love it, I'm off to an 80's night at the weekend so wanted to test it out for that.

I used the M57 Konad plate for this with Black Konad polish over a Base of Model's Own Snow White Nail Polish, I find this polish can be quite sheer so would normally wear 3 coats to give full coverage but as I was doing the Konad over the top I only used 2 coats. I then printed over with the konad plate. Once fully dry, I used a mixture of Barry M Mint Green, Barry M Bright Purple, Maybelline Yellow and finally Models Own Bubblegum to fill in the dots to add a bit of colour.

What do you guys think? Like it or too much?

Soph

This is how the Konad looks after printing. I tidy up with a cotton wool bud soaked in a little nail varnish.

NOTD : No 7 Beanie and Konad

Quick NOTD post, so I used to be mad about Konad, which is the art of stamping designs onto Nails, this one was created with 2 coats of No 7 Beanie polish, a dark brown polish, with a the bow from Konad Plate M56 stamped on with White Konad polish.

It was this little bow design that made me fall in love with Konad, as soon as I saw it, I had to have it and immediately ordered a starter kit (I think it's around £12 for the one I got that had 2 starter image plates, a scraper, a stamp and 2 mini polishes for stamping the designs on), when I ordered it, I thought it was going to be so difficult to do, but it really isn't, you definitely have to have a few goes of it to get a handle of it, but once you have the technique down, it's really simple to do, it can be quite messy, so before I begin, I get myself set up with cotton pads with nail varnish remover on so that you can clean the scraper and stamp through out, and I do it on the back of an old magazine so the that it can be just thrown away at the end and to save my table!

The one thing I haven't quite got down yet with Konad is applying top coat, whenever I seem to do it, it seems to smudge the design and drag it down - any tips for this?

What do you think of this design? I love it, it's so cute and girly and is great for work because it's not too over the top!

Sorry about the blurry picture!
